FM Global to present “Fire Protection for Steam Turbine Driven Syngas Compressors,” at SynGas 2009 Conference

FM Global AVP & Chief Engineering Technical Specialist, Charles M. Farnam, & Senior Account Engineer, Roger Sharp, will talk about how large steam turbine driven syngas compressors at chemical manufacturing sites are essential to plant production, costly and difficult to replace, and exposed to serious oil and syngas fire hazards. Although the likelihood of a fire involving one of these pieces of equipment is relatively low, the consequences can be severe – up to millions of dollars in damage and many months of interrupted production.

SynGas producers say they are looking forward to this presentation because even though oil fires have not yet happened in the syngas industry as they have with utilities – both have the very same turbines and oil systems. It can happen. It can be prevented.

MEAGAN JOHNSON, CSP HELPS YOU NAVIGATE THE CHALLENGING GENERATIONAL WATERS . . .

in her unique presentation, “ZAP THE GAP! How to Train, Manage and Maintain Your Sanity with all Four Generations.” She says, “Every generation gets a negative label when it enters the workforce. For example, Baby Boomers were called trouble-making hippies when they first went to work and Gen Xers were called lazy. Once we take time to understand the motivations and mind-set of younger people, working with them, selling to them and managing them becomes a more successful effort.”

Ms. Johnson is an active member of NSA, National Speakers Association. In 2003, she received her CSP, Certified Speaking Professional designation. Currently, only ten percent of professional speakers hold this designation. As a Gen Xer she was extremely proud to be one of the youngest recipients of the CSP designation. Attendees leave her presentations with new ways to treat and train their younger employees.

In addition to top rated general session speakers, there are over thirty-five (35) specific breakout sessions targeting areas of current interest to industry Producers. Click on the Agenda tab for specific sessions.
